Sunday, April 18, 2010- As the days pass, NPCC Annual Parade 2010 is over. Time flew really fast.
And when it was all over yesterday, I was like, damn! There goes another parade.
As all of you know, NPAP gets more emotional for me every year. And yeah, I gotta admit, my heart was crying like mad when it was over.
I will remember these days. From day one, when FI Faizal asked me to coordinate this event, to the day when I met the trainers, to the day I had lots of problems, to the days that I seek advice, to the days when CIs asked me for advised, to the days, I watched them giving advices, to the actual day itself.
As some of you know, I was the commander of the Turn-out Guard. It was the first time that the Turn-out Guard was completely made up of female trainees. But hell, they made one hell of a work. I shall name them. They are: Wei Jun, Nabilah, Ardilla, Samantha, Izzati, and Hamiza.
At first, these 6 people were meant to be the Guard of Honour reserves. But after a few practices full of hard work and effort, I am confident to say that their new standard in static rifle drills can stand out if they were to be in the Guard of Honour contingent. In fact, the Turn-Out Guard girls managed to catch the attention of many people from the slapping of their rifles, and banging of their legs from the rifle salute (present arms). Personally, I learnt a lot from being their commander, mentor and guiding light. Thanks TOG. (: "Just remember, we live to be better than the every second before."
I would want to thank the CIs who have been supporting me throughout this parade too. Not to mention officers and FIs who have been great mentors to me. Who knows, we can work together again someday. And trust me, the next time we meet again, I would be much better than what you have seen in me right now. This is a challenge that I'm issuing to myself.
And of course to all the other participants in NPAP. Don't forget that what you've learnt from this parade, be from the good times or the bad times. It is sad to say that the parade has come to an end, so much that even a well hidden-emotion guy like me can be brought to tears. But this parade is a beginning for all of you to bring back all the good things that you have learnt from the parade. I'll look forward to seeing some of you in next NPAP (2011). And that would be my 4th NPAP as a full time CI-trainer.
And my goal for next year? Once again, I'll go for PC!
